OUR CORE TEAM

As we grow and reach more into the communities that this project will support and connect with, our initial team has brought a huge amount of creative vision and up-to-date digital media know how to the first stages of development.
A big part of research has been in looking at how apps and games are evolving and we are currently sourcing a range of programmers who will be able to make the delivery of the digital products flawless, enjoyable and relevant for a fruitful, open connection to our key audiences.


 

 

Michael Strickland – Founder, Senior Creative Director

Michael’s passion for bringing wellness to the world comes from over 2 decades in the healing arts as a manager and therapist in the spa industry. Along with learning a variety of healing modalities, Michael has apprenticed with a shaman in Mongolia (Misha Ma) for a year and also Pa Pa K, a kahuna from the big island of Hawaii.

As a healer and a father who’s insight into the countless ‘stories’ he has listened to over many years, it is Michael’s passion that this new storytelling project be brought to life as a way to help further heal and nurture this planet and it’s people.

 

Esabella Strickland – Co-Founder, The Story’s Inspiration

Esabella (or Bella) is the daughter of Michael and the true inspiration behind the Oracle of Shoes Project.
An aspiring actress who is gifted in many ways, she is the modern day, real life voice for the messages and lessons to be learned as the story is developed into a wonderful world of inspiration for all.

Steve Robinson – Co-Founder, Senior Creative Technologist

Steve is a master of a digital media and the main visual designer, user experience architect and digital media manager behind the project including mobile app and game development.

Along with a deep understanding of where digital media is headed and 4 International Awards for Excellence in Creative Marketing, Steve brings over 25 years in all areas of cross-media advertising, branding, PR/Media management and multimedia production experience to the team. He has a long track record of exceptional creative marketing and is a specialist in all forms of traditional media and multi-platform social media marketing.

 

 

Estha Kersco – Game Development Consultant / Analyst

Representing our primary market, Estha brings a wealth of insight and many years of game playing and game building experience to the team, giving us deep insight into what works, what doesn’t and what can be improved on when it comes to a further development of the game portion of our product plans.

 

Sylvia Taylor – Award Winning Author, Editor and Communications Consultant

Sylvia is the former Executive Director of the Federation of BC Writers, after eight years as a Regional Director and two years as President. She is also an inspiring public speaker and presenter at conferences and in writing programs and judges numerous writing competitions.

Her creative writing has appeared in anthologies and genre magazines in Canada and the U.S, and was shortlisted for the CBC National Literary Awards in creative non-fiction. Her devotion to wellness and the arts led to a nomination for the Women of Excellence Awards. She is co-creator and coordinator of “Surrey Stories: A Celebration of the Spoken Word”, a monthly writer/speaker series in conjunction with the City of Surrey Libraries.

 

 

Carla Rieger – Innovation & Change Leadership and Keynote Speaker

Carla connects people to their creative purpose as change activists in their communities, businesses and organizations.

She has spoken to over 1500 groups internationally of up to 4000 people and in 1991 she became the director of The Artistry of Change, a firm that specializes in awakening creative potentials in people so that they can be innovative, high integrity communicators.

She also has extensive training in adult education, leadership and conflict resolution. She has been a fitness instructor, natural healing consultant, Educational Kinesiology instructor, mediator, and presentation skills coach and has written four books on change, conflict resolution and presentation skills, over 65 online learning programs, as well as over 100 articles that have appeared in a wide variety of journals.

 

 

 

Ken Steacy – Comic Book Writer/Illustrator

Ken decided at age eleven to become a professional comic book author/illustrator, a dream he realized in 1974. Since then, he has worked in the industry as writer, artist, art director, editor, and publisher, chronicling the exploits of Astro Boy, Spider-Man, Harry Potter, and the Star Wars gang, to name but a few. In addition to creating his own intellectual property, he has also collaborated with other writers, including Harlan Ellison and Douglas Coupland. He is a recipient of an Eisner and an Inkpot award, and in 2009 was inducted into the Canadian Comic Book Hall of Fame, a lifetime achievement award for contributions to the industry.

 

 

Darlene Foster – Award Winning Children’s Author

An author of four adventure stories for middle readers. She has been writing for over twenty years and has won numerous awards for her short stories including an honorable mention, a third place and second place in the Cecilia Lamont Writing Contest as well as two third place awards in The North Shore Writer´s Contest. Her short stories have been included in a number of anthologies.

 

 

Kirsten Johnson – Award Winning Young Adult Author

A graduate of the University of Southern California master of Professional Writing Program and a bachelors’ degree (Creative Writing) holder from the University of Michigan Residential A professional award-winning and nominated writer (Blue Mountain Arts Tri-Annual Poetry Contest First Place, Edwin W. Moses Graduate Award, British Short Screenplay Award Finalist, Desert Stars Theater Awards Nominee) with 20 years’ experience in fiction, nonfiction, poetry, journalism, screen writing, and playwriting. 16 years’ experience in ghost writing, a longtime Internet content writer (14 years’ experience) and a Veteran children’s author.

 

 

Heather Conn – Award Winning Novel Writer

An author of three books, she works as a professional writer/editor, screenwriter, ghostwriter, writing coach, and communications consultant. Over the last 30 years, her writing has appeared in 50+ publications across North America, including anthologies. With a master of fine arts degree in creativenonfiction, she has taught professional writing full-time at college, and creative writing at numerous post-secondary venues. She has received the Dalton Pen Communications Award for international excellence andan award from the Writers’ Union of Canada, Southam Communications, and other national organizations.

 

 

Fariza Dzatalin Nur Tasani –  Visual Character Developer

Fariza is currently our international character developer from Jakarta, and carries with her a great amount of talent and experience in making assets for mobile and PC games, card games, in illustration, digital painting, character concept, portraits and book and novel covers.
